LITTLE PRESIDIANS OBSERVE MARKET SCENE FOR EXPERIENTIAL LEARNING
When it comes to understanding money, it is never too early to teach kids about transacting money, earning money, saving money and budgeting!
To give our grade 1 students a wide exposure of money transactions and develop their money skills, a small 'market scene' was set up at Presidium, Indirapuram. Some children were made shopkeepers, while others visited the market as buyers. They used fake currency to buy things for themselves. The children were really happy and excited to have the hands on experience of visiting the market and buying the things of their choice. They brilliantly made use of the money and transacted it in the right manner by using significant basic mathematical operations like addition and subtraction. The activity was great fun and children had a great way of experiential learning for the concept of money!

YOUNG READERS DECODE VISUAL IMAGES IN PICTURE READING COMPETITION
Reading in its fullest sense involves weaving together word recognition and comprehension in a fluent manner!
To spark curiosity about reading in our young children, a Picture Reading Competition was recently organized at Presidium, Dwarka 16B. The contest not only helped little Presidians in exploring early reading skills for fun, but also engaged them in a beautiful learning experience. The competition started with the teacher showing a picture to the kids and they were asked to identify what they see in the picture and to think about the information on the chart and what they want to say about it to generate a sentence. Children simply identified what is going on in each picture and found meaning in text and pictures. Children were assessed on their dynamic vocabulary, comprehension and expression. The children were very excited and enjoyed the activity thoroughly. It was wonderful to see how our young readers decoded visual images and made meaning from print.
