VISIT TO QUTUB COMPLEX: PRESIDIANS UNRAVEL A FUN ITIHASS WALK

18-04-2017

People’s relationship to their heritage is the same as the relationship of a child to his mother- John Henrik Clarke

On 13th, April 2017 students of grade 7 from Presidium Indirapuram got a wonderful opportunity to understand the heritage of India through a visit to Qutub Complex under the aegis of ITIHAAS. The objective behind the visit was to go beyond the theoretical understanding of history and to make students use their senses and have their own understanding of their heritage that would enable them to become rightful inheritors of their past. As we reached Qutub Complex, we were warmly welcomed by the ITIHAAS representatives Mr Aalam, Mr Mohsin and Ms Shivani. They assisted us in aligning children as per the prescribed groups.

We were informed about the complex; its pre-Islamic history was unfolded. Its glory during the Delhi sultanate period was discussed. We assembled at historic Quwwat-ul-Islam mosque (the first mosque in whole South Asia). There, Mrs Smita Vats introduced the young learners and learning facilitators with its significance. She used powerful trilingual mode of interaction comprising of English, Hindi and mixed Urdu- Arabic-Persian dialects.

The visit was a great success and it was a memorable experience which left a deep impact on our minds and hearts. Finally, we left the place with the glimpses of our ‘Ganga-Jamuni Tehzeeb’ and made us indebted to those who did those wonders.

INCREDIBLE TRIP TO THE VIBRANT CITY OF AMRITSAR

25-03-2017

Presidium, Indirapuram organised an expedition to Amritsar, Punjab. The students explored the religious landmarks and attained a profound understanding of the culture of Punjab. The students visited the Golden Temple”). The visit provided an insight into the Sikh religion. Presidians wearing "patka" and paying homage to the god was truly a pleasing sight.

The students also witnessed the breathtaking flag-lowering ceremony at the Wagah border. The stupefying parade filled our future leaders with the feeling of patriotism and pride with shouts of ‘Jai Hind!’ being echoed from one and all.
The patriotic feeling embarked on a new level after they visited the Jallianwala Bagh. The tragedy dashed a sense of responsibility for the sacrifices of the martyrs. The young citizens placed their hand over their heart and feelings of allegiance and the little seeds of nationalism were sowed.

The trip instilled feelings of humanity and brotherhood among the children.  This journey not only gave them the opportunity to visit religious places but also provided them with the fortuity to understand the significance of different cultures in our country.
