LITTLE PRESIDIANS PERFORM BRILLIANTLY IN INTER-CLASS SPELLATHON

Spelling is important because it aids in reading. It helps cement the connection that is shared between sounds and letters.
Considering this, an Inter-Class Spellathon Competition was recently organized for the students of grades 1 and 2 in the premises of Presidium Indirapuram. The enjoyable competition gave the students a platform to learn spellings in different fun-filled ways. The competition was divided in two rounds - Spell Bee, wherein the children were asked to write 20 words, and the final round, which consisted of questions like fill in the missing letters, make a word from jumbled letters, big word-small word and who am I. Children were really excited and each and every child performed brilliantly.

TALENTED CHIRAG BAGGED BRONZE AT CBSE SKATING ZONAL CHAMPIONSHIP

Presidium Indirapuram recently participated in the CBSE Skating Zonal Championship held at Delhi Public School, Meerut. We heartily congratulate our talented grade 9 student Chirag Verma for winning the exalted bronze medal in this competition under the mentorship of our skating coaches Mr. Kishan Kumar and Mr. Surender Kumar.Witnessing grand participation of around 1600 students from 62 schools, this contest presented a series of phenomenal performances.

MICROSOFT ONENOTE 2016: TEACHERS EXPERIENCE A NEW LEARNING AVENUE

Technology is not just a tool. It can give learners a voice that they may not have had before.
As we sail through the 21st century, technology in the classroom is becoming more and more predominant. Realizing the importance of introduction of latest technology to our teachers, so that it can be taught to our students, Presidium Indirapuram recently organized a workshop on Microsoft Outlook, conducted by KIPS Publishing House. The workshop enhanced the educators' technological skills by teaching them how to use the software OneNote 2016 effectively in the class and make their classroom a fun place for learning. It started with a small presentation by Mr. Gurmeet Singh with assistance of his fellow mates - Mr. Salman and Mr. Rohit. After the presentation, the teachers explored different tools of the software and how they can effectively incorporate those tools in their classrooms. Full of knowledge and new learning, this interactive session not only made the teachers more confident but also more creative.

One thing has not changed much in 1000 years that there is still no better way to stir emotions than a good story. A good story can imbibe the right values in the most impressionable age.
To enhance the speaking skills and confidence of our pre-primary grade students, Presidium Indirapuram recently organised a ‘Storytelling Competition’. The little Presidians participated with full of zeal and came up with attention-grabbing stories. Their usage of props and various captivating storytelling techniques showcased their creativity. The competition not only enhanced their vocabulary and awareness about the world, but also developed their love for stories. With this competition, our Presidians got an opportunity to learn how to pair gestures and words to bring characters and their actions to life. It was truly, a memorable day.

With hearts packed with happiness and pride, the Presidium family congratulates the little grandmasters of Indirapuram for adding another feather to our glory. These talented Presidians outshined at the CBSE Chess Zonal by winning 5 GOLD MEDALS. Held at Indirapuram Public School, the Chess Championship witnessed participation of 738 students from over 59 schools. Many congratulations to Anukriti Sharma, Prabhav Aggarwal, Azal Nasir, Kavya Aggarwal and Dhairya Gupta for winning gold medals.

Sports is a perfect rendition of life that should be an amalgamation of talent and diligence and what can be more exhilarating, than getting acknowledged for living life. Resplendent and excited faces encapsulated with the aura of excitement and pride was a sight to behold at Presidium Indirapuram when it decided to honour and acknowledge the feats of more than 700 champions by holding INVINCIBLES - the Annual Sports Day Prize Distribution. The ceremony was presided over by our very dear Sudha Ma'am, Presidium's honourable chairperson, who initiated the event with the traditional lamp lighting. Recognizing the perseverance and innate abilities of our budding sports stars with certificates and medals, the ceremony ended on a high note with a promise to upscale the performance in the coming session.

REJOICING A JOYFUL CHILDREN’S DAY AT PRESIDIUM INDIRAPURAM

To increase the awareness of people towards the rights, care and education of children, the Children’s Day was recently celebrated with a special assembly at Presidium, Indirapuram. The day marks the birth anniversary of India’s first Prime Minister, Pt. Jawaharlal Nehru, who was renowned to be very affectionate towards children and thus, became famous as Chacha Nehru. The assembly area was decorated enticingly according to the theme of the program - love and roses. It was a delight to see the adorable children dressed up in white coloured Kurta Pyjamas along with Nehru caps. The celebration began with a classical dance performance and a few children took initiative to throw light on this occasion. Then, the little ones performed on a foot tapping number and went down the stage to invite the teachers to join them in for a dance, proving that the soul is healed by being with children.

अंतर्कक्षा वाद-विवाद प्रतियोगिता: उच्च रचनात्मकता का प्रदर्शन

हाल ही में प्रिसीडियम इंदिरापुरम में विद्यार्थियों के लिए ‘अंतर्कक्षा वाद-विवाद प्रतियोगिता’ का आयोजन किया गया, जिस में कक्षा ६-८ तक के विदयार्थियों ने बढ़-चढ़ कर भाग लिया। प्रतियोगिता दो चरणों में आयोजित की गई। प्रथम चरण के विषय थे - 'अध्यापकों द्वारा गृहकार्य देना विद्यार्थियों के लिए लाभदायक है', 'इंटरनेट का बच्चों पर प्रभाव सकारात्मक है' एवं 'बच्चों का उग्र स्वभाव समाज के लिए प्रगतिशील है'। वहीँ द्वितीय चरण के विषय इस प्रकार थे – 'मशीनी अध्यापक, मानवी अध्यापक का प्रभावी विकल्प है', 'आज के समय में अभिभावकीय दबाव बच्चों के लिए अच्छा है' एवं 'वर्तमान शिक्षा युवाओं को भविष्य के लिए तैयार नहीं करती'। विद्यार्थियों ने दिए गए विषयों के अनुसार अपनी कक्षा के समक्ष वाद-विवाद के लिए अपने तर्क पक्ष/विपक्ष में प्रस्तुत किए। प्रस्तुतिकरण हेतु उन्हें २ से २.५ मिनट का समय दिया गया था। प्रत्येक कक्षा में से दो विजेताओं को विषयवस्तु, अभिव्यक्ति और प्रस्तुतिकरण जैसे मूल्यांकन बिन्दुओं के आधार पर चुना गया, जिसके आधार पर वे द्वितीय चरण में अपना स्थान बना पाए। विजेताओं को ढेर सारे प्रोत्साहन के साथ-साथ प्रार्थना-सभा में पुरस्कार भी दिए गए। प्रेसीडीअंस द्वारा विषयों को अच्छी तरह समझकर उसके पक्ष/विपक्ष में बड़े उत्साह के साथ तर्क प्रस्तुत करते देख उनकी रचनात्मकता, ज्ञान व समकालीन समस्याओं के प्रति जागरूकता को दर्शाया गया।

PRESIDIANS SAY NO TO PLASTIC BAGS FOR A HEALTHIER ENVIRONMENT

Plastic is an environmental Hazard and polythene bags are polluting land, water and air because they are non-biodegradable. Considering their undue responsibility towards protecting the environment by creating awareness among their fellow mates to restrict the use of poly bags, our little Presidians of grade 1 and 2 organized a special assembly at Presidium, Indirapuram. They participated in activities like poster making and paper bag making to promote the use of paper bags through a rally. They marched in the school premises with the slogan 'say no to poly bags' and 'make use of paper bags'. It was a wonderful effort taken by the little children and their efforts were appreciated by all the people around.
