PRESIDIANS CELEBRATE LORD RAMA’S VICTORY ON DUSSEHRA

Dussehra is an auspicious day in the year of Hindu Faith. It is one of the major festivals and involves huge celebrations for ten days and nine nights. In the mood of celebration, our young Presidians celebrated Dussehra with full vigour to instill the students with the message of this festival- the destruction of evil power and triumph of good over evil. A virtual celebration was planned wherein students played the role of different mythological characters to make everybody understand their importance in Ramayana. They also made a small craft of Ravana. The students were sensitized about the occasion and were encouraged to adopt the teachings for the benefit of mankind.

STUDENTS ENHANCE THEIR KNOWLEDGE OF INDIA’S FREEDOM STRUGGLE

In the endeavour to have holistic learning, CBSE has announced to celebrate the year as the year of freedom with some enriching experiential learnings and activities. This activity aimed to create awareness related to India's grand freedom struggle. Students of Grade 5 connected with their grandparents or an elderly person in the family to hear their stories and experiences from India’s struggle for freedom and more. They listened to the experiences and shared with their class teachers and fellow students using the flashcards. Students of Grade 6 and 7 made posters related to freedom fighters. This was a great experience while they connected with their grandparents and at the same time understanding the importance of freedom. Students of Grade 8 were asked to research the crucial locations which hold historic relevance and create a PPT to be presented in the class. Not only were these activities informative but it was delightful to see the light of patriotism in our Presidians’ eyes.

STUDENTS ENHANCE THEIR CREATIVITY WITH POSTER MAKING ACTIVITY

Poster-making competition is one of the best competitions of the yearly school activity organized by Presidium. The theme for 2021 had been Nutrition, balanced diet. It aims to develop students’ creativity and originality in the field of visual arts. The theme was focused on the enablement of the students to be physically and mentally fit through right and balanced nutrition. Students of grades 4 and 5 participated on the virtual platform with full enthusiasm and made beautiful posters. They were judged on the relevance to the theme and the slogan with which they supported their topic. It was a delightful session for the students.

STUDENTS SALUTE THE BRAVERY OF OUR AIR WARRIORS!

The Indian Air Force Day was observed with great zeal and enthusiasm by the students and staff of the school. To mark this great day and to salute the bravery of our air warriors, students of Grade 5, 6, and 7, took part in various virtual activities. They donned dresses covering various shades of blue. They also enjoyed making colourful paper airplanes and were also shown the presentation to spread awareness about the operations that the Indian Air Force executes and the challenges it deals with. Teachers apprised students about the sacrifices and the contribution made by the air arm of the Indian Armed Forces and some heroic facts from the history of the Indian Air Force. Students were told that the Indian Air Force has its prime responsibility of securing the Indian airspace and following the core values, developing skills, and hone professionalism to deliver success in any mission in service to our nation. They were sensitized to be grateful and respectful towards these Indian warriors.

World Animal Day is internationally celebrated to educate humans about how their actions impact animals and to create awareness about the protection of animals all over the world. It's a special opportunity to commemorate our love and respect for animals by doing something special to highlight their importance in the world. So our little Presidians also put in their effort by dressing up as different animals. They were also sensitized on how to treat animals.

"Be the change that you want to see in the world" - Mahatma Gandhi
Gandhi Jayanti is celebrated on 2 October every year to mark the birth anniversary of the most prominent leader of the Indian Independence struggle. Gandhi Ji is also called 'Bapu' and was given the title of 'Father of the Nation'. So as a tribute to our Rashtrapita, Presidians celebrated Gandhi Jayanti with full zeal. Students were made aware of the struggles and sacrifices made by Gandhi Ji to set India free. They all were dressed up in traditional attire and made various crafts like charkha, specs, lathi, Gandhi’s three monkeys, etc. to pay tribute to Gandhi ji. They were shown stories related to Gandhi’s life instances and had a virtual tour to Sabarmati Ashram which spread the message of endurance, peace, harmony, and the powerful tool of Non-Violence. Students paid homage and sang Gandhiji’s favorite song “Raghupati Raghav Raja Ram, Patit Pavan Sita Ram.”

The International Day of Peace is observed around the world each year on 21st September. Established in 1981 by unanimous United Nations resolution, Peace Day provides globally shared date for all humanity to commit to Peace above all differences and to contribute to building a Culture of Peace. To celebrate this day, an activity of Poster Making was planned for Presidians of Grade 2. Students were sensitised about the topic and were made aware of the need for "Peace" for our well-being also.

DAUGHTER’S DAY:STUDENTS REMEMBER SUCCESS OF NATION’S DAUGHTERS

"Daughters are the joy of a mother and father’s heart, beauty and sweetness describe them from the start."
Every year, the fourth Sunday of September is celebrated as Daughters Day in India, this year the day falls on September 26. On this day, parents appreciate their daughters and celebrate the gift of their existence. This day was first founded to get rid of the stigma around having a girl child. However, people often celebrate it by sharing wishes, presents, and chocolates with their daughters. Presidians of Grade 2 and 3 celebrated this beautiful day in club period where all talented girls dressed up as one of the famous female Indian personalities like Mary Kom, Sania Mirza, Kalpana Chawla, Priyanka Chopra, Indira Gandhi, etc. or even as their beautiful mother, sister, grandmother or aunt and also spoke few lines about them. Amazing boys prepared two to three lines on the topic of daughter's day or some of them even recited a poem or slogan to appreciate all the wonderful daughters of our country for their hard work.

STUDENTS DISCOVER THE POWER OF WORDS WITH SHOW & TELL ACTIVITY

Show and tell sets the stage for children to become comfortable when speaking in public. Presidium school organized a Show and Tell competition for tiny tots. The main aim of this competition was to help to build their self-confidence and self-esteem. It enabled them to improve their descriptive skills by communicating feelings, thoughts, and emotions with words. During this competition, students showed their objects to teachers, they had to speak a few lines about their object. It goes without saying that student’s involvement in individual activity infuses their originality, self-confidence & self-reliance. The inspiring presentation left no stone unturned to achieve a realistic appraisal of their skills and to discover the power of spoken words.

हिन्दी हमारी राष्ट्र भाषा ही नहीं,पहचान भी है|
हिन्दी इस देश का गौरव ही नहीं,सम्मान भी है|
हिन्दी भारत की राष्ट्रभाषा सन् १९१८ से है, जब महात्मा गाँधी जी ने हिन्दी सम्मेलन में हिन्दी भाषा को राष्ट्रभाषा बनाने का प्रस्ताव रखा| १४ सितम्बर १९४९ को संविधान सभा ने निर्णय लिया था कि भारत की राष्ट्रभाषा हिन्दी ही होगी| इस निर्णय को महत्व देने के लिए और हिन्दी के उपयोग को प्रचलित करने के लिए साल १९५३ के उपरांत हर साल १४ सितम्बर को ‘हिन्दी दिवस’ मनाया जाता है| हमारे देश की राष्ट्रभाषा को बढ़ावा देने के लिए कक्षा १,२ और ३ के बच्चों के लिए ऑनलाइन कक्षा के दौरान ‘हिन्दी दिवस’ का आयोजन किया गया| इस गतिविधि के दौरान बच्चों को अपनी राष्ट्रभाषा से जुड़ने में मदद मिली| इस गतिविधि के अंतर्गत बच्चों ने प्रसिद्ध साहित्यकार,कवि और कवयित्री का पात्र निभाते हुए उनका परिचय दिया अथवा उनके द्वारा लिखे गए प्रसिद्ध दोहे, नारे और कविताएँ ऑनलाइन कक्षा के दौरान सभी के समक्ष सुनाईl हिन्दी लिपि के उनके प्रारंभिक साल वर्णमाला से होती है तो बच्चोँ ने अक्षर और शब्द पेड़ बना कर उत्साहपूर्वक हिन्दी दिवस मनाया l
