PRESIDIANS CELEBRATE GANESH CHATURTHI WITH UTMOST DEVOTION & JOY

“विघ्नेश्वराय वरदाय सुरप्रियाय लम्बोदराय सकलाय जगद्धितायं। नागाननाथ श्रुतियज्ञविभूषिताय गौरीसुताय गणनाथ नमो नमस्ते॥”

Lord Ganesha is believed to be the lord of resolving obstacles. Ganesh Chaturthi is one of the major festivals in Hinduism which is held for 11 days every year. At the end of the eleven days comes the Anant Chaturdashi, where devotees immerse their statues of the deity into seas and rivers. The devotees pray to their idol Lord Ganesha to bring peace, prosperity, and happiness into their homes. Ganesh Aarti is performed in the morning and evening and the offerings of modak and ladoos are made to the deity. Children at Presidium made this festival fun and frolic. Students wore traditional clothes and made crafts and beautiful drawings of Lord Ganesha followed by movie watching and singing prayers and Lord Ganesha’s songs and also exchanged different names of Ganesh Ji in-class discussion.

TEACHER’S DAY: PRESIDIANS SAY THANK YOU TO THEIR DEAR TEACHERS

“A good teacher can inspire hope, ignite the imagination, and instill a love of learning.” Teacher’s day- A special day dedicated to all the teachers, is celebrated all over India on 5 September to honour one of the greatest Scholars, Diplomats, President of our country, and most importantly a great teacher- Dr. Sarvapalli Radhakrishnan. Each teacher plays a vital role in making the students' accountable citizens of tomorrow and yet the leaders of tomorrow. So in honour of the teachers who indulge in the thankless work all throughout the year, the little Presidians presented a token of love to the teachers in the form of songs and poems and celebrated Teacher’s day with great gusto and gaiety. Students presented special acts depicting their favorite teacher. Students acknowledged their teachers, by their sweet words, who bestowed love and care on them every single moment.

SKIT COMPETITION: PRESIDIANS DISPLAY THEIR CREATIVE EXPRESSION

A Skit Competition was conducted to enhance the imagination skills, powers of creative expression, and linguistic skills of the children. It was an inter-club activity. Leaders presented on the topic “mental health”, Supremes club depicted “Gender discrimination” while the other clubs presented on other topics also like Brain drain, etc. All topics were very well presented in a well-synchronized manner. The students participated enthusiastically in the competition as they got an opportunity to showcase their talent in dramatization, linguistic skills, and self talent. The competition was greatly helpful and encouraging in boosting the self-confidence of students.
Presidium will keep on organizing such competitions in near future also to enhance and inculcate our budding artists.

PRESIDIANS CELEBRATE THE DIVINE SPIRIT WITH VIGOR!

Krishna Janmashtami, also known simply as Janmashtami or Gokulashtami, is an annual Hindu festival that celebrates the birth of Krishna, the eighth avatar of Vishnu. The birthday of Lord Krishna was celebrated by the students of Presidium School with great fervor and gaiety. The young Presidians were dressed up as Radha and Shri Krishna. It brought devotion, creativity, enjoyment, and fun all together. A splendidly colorful setup was created online, and the entire environment was full of festivity and zest. The students presented songs, bhajan, and dance performances dedicated to Lord Krishna. To further enhance the knowledge of students about the festival of Janmashtami, the mythological stories of Krishna, Radha, Kans – were shown to them. The students made various crafts like matki making and Lord Krishna’s flute-bansuri. The students were delighted to hear the stories of little Krishna and his playful acts.

Sports are very essential for every human life which keeps them fit, fine and gives physical strength. Sports in school help in preparing students to face the challenges of life. They enhance the physical and mental abilities of students and help them achieve the goals of their life. One can realize the importance of sports by the various national and international sporting events organized all over the world. With the same viewpoint, the little leaders of Presidium in the Junior wing did various physical development exercises. In the Senior wing, students were divided into teams and were asked to create a game/sports which they played in the class with other teammates. These activities build a spirit of enthusiasm and enhance the intellectual and mindful skills of the students which are an essential part of Sports.

STUDENTS PERFORM THE ACID BASE TEST WITH NATURAL INDICATORS

We use in our daily life a large number of substances such as lemon, tamarind, common salt, sugar, and vinegar. Many substances that we encounter in our daily life have different properties. One major difference between substances is whether they are acidic or basic.

A science activity was conducted by grade 7 students of Presidium wherein students conducted an Acid-Base test with natural indicators. A special type of substance was used to test whether a substance is acidic or basic. These substances are known as indicators. The indicators change their colour when added to a solution containing an acidic or a basic substance. Turmeric, litmus, China rose petals (Gudhal), etc. are some of the naturally occurring indicators. The objective was to inculcate a scientific attitude and research-mindedness through scientific investigations.

PRESIDIANS CELEBRATE THE SPECIAL SIBLING BOND ON RAKSHA BANDHAN!

Brothers and Sisters are not just connected by blood, they are connected by heart with the string of love and care. This festival celebrates the bond of love and affection between brothers and sisters. To celebrate this bond our little Presidians were dressed up in Ethnic Attire. They made Rakhi cards and beautiful Rakhi using colourful papers, beads, and molly. They also tied the knot of affection created by them with their teachers on the wrists of their parents and their siblings. The students were educated about the significance of this festival also because of which heartwarming memories were created. They were shown a short video about Raksha Bandhan.

WORLD PHOTOGRAPHY DAY: STUDENTS CELEBRATE THE ART OF PHOTOGRAPHY!

World Photography Day is celebrated on August 19 every year. The day is dedicated to the art, craft, science, and history of photography. A photograph is nothing but a diverse bag of sentiments taking place at a particular moment, revealed beautifully through the language of photography. It delivers countless feelings and emotions to the personality who clicks the photograph and those who appreciate it. The most notable part is encouraging young aspiring professionals and enthusiastic candidates to pursue photography as a passion. Students of Grade 1 made photo frames for their loved ones and pasted their pictures on them. Grade 4 students stepped out with their cameras and captured beautiful rain-washed surroundings, people, nature, or architecture, they also photographed the monsoon mood of absolutely anything.

With freedom in the mind, faith in the words, pride in our souls, let’s salute the nation on this auspicious day.

15th August 1947 is the day embossed in the golden history of India. At the stroke of the midnight hour, when the world slept, India awakened to life and freedom. As India celebrates the 75th Independence year with great enthusiasm, Presidians are infused with a sense of patriotism and nationalistic feelings through assemblies. The assembly brought forth the unique features of India and its national symbols. Students also sang to a medley of patriotic songs. A melodious presentation of dance on a foot-tapping patriotic number was a major attraction. Indeed, it is a day of elation, a day of love and respect for the country, instilling in the Presidians the value and reverence for the gift of freedom by the great leaders of the country. A wind of patriotism and national integration blows in the heart of each Presidian.
