Kargil Vijay Diwas is associated with the glorious past of India. Our young Presidians were told about the soldier's life and their selfless services. They were sensitized about the soldiers who were martyred during the war. A video related to Kargil Vijay Diwas was shown to them. They also paid tribute and lit candles for the soldiers who lost their lives in Kargil War. They further prayed for the well-being of soldiers.
Meal planning is making a plan of meals with adequate nutrition for every member of the family within the available resources. It is important for meeting the nutritional requirements of the family members, so it helps us to decide what to eat each day and in each meal. Children learn about grouping the foods into different groups according to their nutrient content in this subject. Inclusion of these food groups in our daily meals is important to provide an adequate diet. This knowledge is essential to make sure that you are eating the right food in the right quantities. Our little chefs of Presidium Grade 4 learned and laid their hands on making Cucumber boats and Mango Mojito, and also learned about their nutritional value.
"Gratitude is an affirmation of goodness." An attitude of gratitude means that you operate from a place of abundance instead of a place of scarcity and fear. Hence, our tiny tots were guided by their teachers to learn the practice of being grateful for everything that they have in their lives. An expression of gratitude acknowledges the importance of people, things, events, and the difference they make to us. We express our gratitude to convey our warm and friendly feelings. Students were also told if somebody is helpful and kind to us in thought or action, we need to express gratitude or return our thankful feelings. When good things happen in our lives or when we are with the ones we love, and when we are grateful and express our gratitude, the feeling of love and tenderness grows.
Elocution plays a crucial role in the formation, articulation, and pronunciation of speech and speaking skills for students, Elocution classes are a part of any good English session. It provides an opportunity to speak formally with the proper knowledge and use of pronunciation, grammar, style, and tone. The Presidians of Grade 4 were provided a platform to the budding orators through an Interhouse Elocution Competition, which challenged students with the topics like Technology a boon or bane, Paper books vs E-books and Rainwater harvesting. The objective of this activity was to make them more expressive, confident, and spontaneous in their way of speaking. It aimed at building their overall confidence, improved oral speech and reading ability, increased vocabulary, comprehension skills, and also inculcated the habit of reading.
We celebrate every moment of our life with vibrant colours of nature. They are the source of joy and happiness for everyone. Keeping this in mind, Presidium School organized a colouring competition for Grade Nursery and 1. The little artists participated in the competition with great zeal and enthusiasm and at the same time took great care to colour their masterpieces with their creativity. The students coloured beautifully in the picture given to them and exhibited their skills by filling colours in it. The fun they had is certainly going to add a new innings to their colourful childhood memories.
Science is the process that takes us from confusion to understanding in a manner that's precise, predictive, and reliable. Our young Presidians are the lucky ones who experienced it by doing it. Enrichment promotes critical thinking and problem-solving skills, improves student's ability to concentrate, and makes learning more meaningful, valuable, and rewarding. These activities are fun, which helps students to become more engaged in their learning and retain more information. Students created a model of Lungs using the bare necessities at home like straw, polybags, chart paper, and tape. The whole activity was to make them understand and have a practical overview of how their lungs actually function. In another activity, they created a model of human teeth. Students used clay, play dough, and atta dough. The aim was to make them understand different types of teeth and their functioning and uses.
The association between humans and animals has existed since ancient ages. The human-animal bond is a mutually beneficial and dynamic relationship between people and animals that is influenced by behaviors essential to the health and wellbeing of both. The bond between animals and humans is becoming more affable. The two now can correlate in many ways and as the days are passing by, their understanding of each other is becoming easier thus their relationship is becoming stronger. It is therefore the duty of humans to protect animals since man cannot do without them. In line with this view, Presidians participated in activities related to the TBL theme ANIMALS. A virtual animal party was planned where students dressed up as their favourite animal and also enacted like it.
