It is rightly said that we must save the environment in the present for a better life in future. Environment plays a vital role in our life, our survival is impossible without our environment, but unfortunately we have been continuously neglecting our environment for the sake of development. It is extremely tragic that humans focus more on their greed than needs. In order to drive home the point and foster a sense of responsibility among students, the school organised a Collage Making activity on the topic ‘Neglecting Environment for Development’. Presidians made creative collages focusing upon events where demands of humans led to the destruction of the environment. They also emphasised how development can be dangerous for our planet. The learners enthusiastically participated and took an oath to safeguard their environment.
Imagination is a powerful tool in the development of young minds because it encourages children to resolve problems on their own. Fantasy fosters creative thinking that enables children to learn problem solving skills that are needed as adults. And the theme ‘Fantasy’ in English curriculum of Grade two culminated with children sharing their fantasies. Thor, good godzilla, genies, monsters under beds or in closets, toys that come alive at night were a few of their fantasies. These young Presidians had vivid imaginations to say the least. Hats off to their imagination which had no boundaries.
There is no love as pure, unconditional and strong as a mother’s love. Mother's Day is the day to celebrate and show gratitude to our guardian angel. Young Presidians made the most of the day and thanked their mothers for all the wonderful things they do for them. They also showcased their love by making cards for their mothers. The day overflowed with emotions and was appreciated by all in the family.
Dance is not merely about grooving to your favorite tunes, it is much more than that. As Martha Graham quotes, “Dance is the hidden language of the soul.” On the occasion of World Dance Day, Prisidians entered the mesmerising and exciting world of Dance. The activities of the day were designed to encourage students to reflect on the importance of dance, especially in the time of pandemic. The day concluded with a message of spreading love and hope, even during the hard times of Covid-19.
“A book is a gift you can open again and again.” World Book Day is observed on 23rdApril annually to celebrate books and authors, and encourage young people to discover the pleasure of reading. In order to celebrate the essence of reading in our lives, our Presidians of Grade Prep, One and Two were exposed to a variety of enriching experiences to create awareness about the importance of books in our lives. They were shown numerous e-books virtually. Also, children shared about their favourite books and spoke about its story line, characters, and events and why they enjoy reading.
