‘Science isn’t about why….It’s about why not?’ Presidium Indirapuram recently celebrated Science Week. The theme of the week long extravaganza was - “Hogwarts - The world of spellbinding Science“. The aim behind organising Science Week was to enthuse students and get them involved in the global scientific perspective as well as stimulate their understanding of how science impacts their future and daily lives. The school was decorated with informative charts. The activities provided students with the opportunity to develop abilities of scientific inquiry. Students of grades 7 & 8 showcased their knowledge by making models and discussing about them with great enthusiasm explaining the science and concepts behind the models. Students of grade 8 performed a wonderful role play creating awareness about the myths prevailing in rural Indian society. The week long celebration educated students about the role of science in our lives. It was a great learning experience for the students.

HON’BLE CHAIRPERSON LAUDS PRESIDIANS AT SCIENCE WEEK & ART FAIR

Presidium Indirapuram recently organised a Science Week for the students of grades 7 & 8. The theme of the week long celebration was ‘Hogwarts - The world of spellbinding science.’ The Presidians were exposed to diverse concepts related to the field of science and about how science plays a very important role in our everyday lives and the future of the world. An Art Fair was also organised wherein the students displayed their creativity and painted their ideas on a canvas with grace. They received an opportunity to showcase their projects, models, informative charts and art works in front of the honourable Chairperson, Mrs.Sudha Gupta. Ma’am was immensely proud of how confidently the students presented their projects along with technical explanations of the concepts. She lauded them for their efforts and encouraged them to continue learning with enthusiasm and expand their horizons in the vast field of science and art.

Presidium has always worked towards letting its students explore their creative expression to bring out the hidden artist in them. Keeping this in mind, Presidium Indirapuram organised an ‘Art Fair’, giving students a platform to display their artwork and creativity. Mrs. Sudha Gupta, honourable Chairperson graced the Art Fair and appreciated and applauded the efforts of the students. The Fair helped students give expression to their thoughts and imagination. It was a moment of pride for Presidium to display the works of our budding artists.

RAAHGIRI DAY: PRESIDIANS PLEDGE TO CREATE A HAPPIER & CLEANER CITY

It gives us immense pleasure to share that Presidium Indirapuram participated in 'Ghaziabad Raahgiri - Ek Satyagrah' organized by District Administration of Ghaziabad near Gaur Mall, Ghaziabad. It provided a platform to the society to come together and create awareness amongst the citizens of Ghaziabad related to environment and health. The District administration initiated this long term goal of making Urban India Healthier and Happier, Cleaner and Greener. To contribute to this great initiative, Presidians participated in 'Buniyadi Kadam' event in which they visited shops and houses in the identified area and talked about plantation. They signed the pledge of celebrating Green and Clean Diwali given by the district administration.

PRESIDIANS LEARN ABOUT INDUSTRIES WITH AN INTERESTING ACTIVITY

With an aim to create an interesting learning environment, a detailed case study of Agro based industries was introduced on the topic ‘Manufacturing Industries’. Students presented the key details of Cotton Textile Industry in a collaborative manner. They took turns to highlight the important aspects of the topic by using tools like Narration, Brain Storming, Map, Word Bubble and Peer mentoring. It was a great learning experience for the young Presidians.

CHILDREN'S DAY CELEBRATIONS WITH SUDHA MA'AM ENTHRALLS PRESIDIANS

The students of Presidium Indirapuram got the opportunity to celebrate Children’s Day with honourable Chairperson of Presidium, Mrs. Sudha Gupta. Students were excited to present cards and flowers to ma’am to exhibit their love and affection. A wonderful gala was organised wherein students performed skits and dances to celebrate the spirit of childhood. The teachers also organised various activities to make the day special for their students. Mrs. Gupta wished her dear students a very happy Children’s Day and motivated them to be the torchbearers of change in the country. It was indeed a memorable day for everyone.

‘The Festival of Lights' that enlightens the hearts and brings joy to every soul came was celebrated with great enthusiasm at Presidium Indirapuram. The school premises was decorated with beautiful Diyas and decorations adorning the corridors and the school corridors in bright colours. Students talked about the significance of the festival - how Good always conquers the Evil and also about why and how Diwali is celebrated across India. PRESIDIANS SPREAD AWARENESS WITH 'SAY NO TO CRACKERS' RALLY

A special ‘Say No to Crackers’ Campaign was organised by Presidium Indirapuram with the aim of creating awareness among the masses about the tremendous air pollution caused due to bursting of crackers. With the aim of celebrating ‘Green Diwali’ students pledged to say ‘No’ to crackers and ‘Yes’ to pollution free environment with a special rally flagged off by the students of grade 1. The rally saw lots of enthusiasm among the students as they roared slogans, showed placards and encouraged everyone to gift our Mother Earth a tree this Diwali instead of harmful smoke of crackers. Presidium has always been making endeavours to spread awareness regarding the environmental issues inspiring students to make our Earth - a better place to live.

YOUNG SCIENTISTS LEARN THE TECHNIQUE OF TITRATION

Titration is a laboratory technique used in chemical analysis. Students put an solution of an unknown quantity of a known substance in a conical flask, and a solution of known strength was then added. The addition process was continued until an end point of the titration was reached. The students learned about the equivalence point of the titration when a visible change like colour change was observed. The activity was a great learning experience for the the young scientists of Presidium.

PRESIDIANS ENJOY THE ADVENTUROUS & EDUCATIVE TRIP TO JIM CORBETT

Presidium believes in providing experiential learning to its students. Keeping this in mind, an educational and adventurous trip to Jim Corbett was organised for the students of grade 6. The trip aimed at improving team building skills and coordination. Since the camp was in the heart of the jungle, it also involved learning about nature and its beauty. The journey to the campsite was extremely thrilling as we drove through the forest. At the camp, students were divided into four groups and they took part in various activities including trekking, body surfing, raft building and hangman conducted by the amazing team of Rocksport. The evening hours were spent around a bonfire, writing journals, singing songs and discussing the experiences of the day. The students returned home with a new and great learning experiences.
